Submit Your Story!
First things first. The main point of this site is for fun and self-education. Which means we don’t buy the rights to your content. Just know that by submitting your story to me, you’re agreeing to allow me to store the story on my site for free and to let others read it for free. Beyond that, we claim no rights or ownership.
Now that we’ve dispensed with that, let’s get on to the details of actually submitting the story. Really, the very best way to submit is simply to paste your story into the body of an e-mail; most stories will presumably be short enough to do so, but if you’d prefer to attach it as a text file, that’s fine as well.
Text stories are not the only content we seek; if you would like to submit a work of graphic art, such as a painting or photo of the Macohmet/McKinley area, I would be eager to see it. Our site can handle most types of media, so if you’d like to submit a faux video or radio broadcast in an internet-friendly format, you’re encouraged to do so. Just keep in mind that as with written work, you must be the author and owner of the image/video/audio file and you must take care to not infringe on the property rights of others (no music that isn’t yours, no video shot in the local Megalo-Mart, and so on). Video files can be sizable and therefore difficult to attach to an e-mail, so I recommend you utilize YouTube or Google Video and send me the link so I can embed it on this site.
Until things really get going, I can’t give you an idea of how quickly I can get back to you with an answer. I expect it will be quickly, because I don’t expect 3,000 submissions at once. If ever. But we’ll use that suitably vague word, timely. I will respond to you in a timely fashion. Just keep in mind that I’ll operate this site with our mutual goal in mind of getting stories out there for interested readers, so it’ll all go as quickly as possible.
I do reserve the right to edit submissions or turn them down entirely. I don’t plan on doing either, but it remains a possibility. There are no hard and fast content restrictions, but do keep in mind that this is and will remain a site open to anyone. Long story short: violence and sexual content need to be dramatically justifiable and not gratuitous. Items which do contain adult content will be tagged as such, so that readers can make informed decisions.
If these guidelines are agreeable to you, simply follow this link and attach your file (or paste it into the mail body, if possible).
